Nelson’s Perpetual Loose-Leaf Encyclopaedia (vol. 7) (New York\, NY: Thomas Nelson and Sons\, 1917)\nThe earliest known mortise and tenon joint dates from over 7\,000 years ago. It is still a staple of fine woodworking worldwide. This month’s meeting will focus on the mortise. We’ll see both machine and hand tool approaches to making a perfect rectangular hole in a piece of wood. Sounds\, simple\, no? There will be a board meeting starting an hour before the general meeting. On the agenda is a review of our membership and finances and discussion of ways to broaden participation in MWWG activities. Everyone is welcome to attend and take part in discussions.
