MWWG MEETING – JULY

July 14 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

July
This month our member Kiko Denzer has generously invited us to his shop and home for a demonstration of green woodworking. Green woodworking refers to making things out of wood that has been recently harvested and is still wet, rather than wood that has been dried, using mostly hand tools. Kiko will show us how he makes turned objects using his foot-powered lathe. And as a bonus, he will fire up his wood fired earth oven so we can all make pizza!*
Kiko specializes in green woodworking, natural building, earth plastering, has written a well-known book on constructing earth ovens, and more. You can get a hint of his broad interests here:
https://www.handprintpress.com/
He also teaches classes at the Tarweed Folk School here in Benton County.
There are special arrangements for this meeting:
1. We meet on Sunday, June 14th, 2:30 to 5:00 pm.
2. Because of limited space we have to restrict attendance to MWWG members only.

3. Again because of limited space we ask everyone to carpool. Please show up at the Benton County Fairgrounds parking lot near their big electronic sign at 2:30 pm. We will give drivers the address when you get there. BCF is only about 3.5 miles from Kiko’s house in Philomath so it will be a quick shuttle.
